With regard to the dispute on board s.s. "Fatshan on the 28th May between our crew and your member who was injured, we consider that there was some misunder- standing between both parties thus causing the usual work not to be carried out by your members. However, for the sake of the cordial relations existing between your Union and ourselves for so many years we should maintain our friendship apart from our business interests. We are very glad to know that your member is recovering from his injuries. In accordance with Mr. Pang's instruction we will pay for the medical expenses of your injurea member and express with sincereity our apology, hoping that you will instruct your members to resume our cordial relations and carry on the work as usual for our mutual benefit.

We have the honour to remain

Yours truly (Signed) W.F. Johnston
